Your point still stands, but I think your numbers need revising.

Yes, you can field up to 8 TIE fighters in under 100 points, but at most, only 1 of them will be able carry an elite talent.

You could have 5 Y-Wings, each with an R5 astromech, but only 1 of those Y-Wings could be equipped with an Ion Cannon. Or you could have 2 Ion Cannons and no R5s, which seems like a more sensible setup.


The list i made was with only one collection supplying both armys.
The "Edit" parts takes into account of you just fielding one army in a tournament.
While i agree that 5 R5s will not happen a lot this is about all possible squad setups. If someone wants to run such a setup he should be able to do so without buying extra ships he will never need.

And don't get me started on future waves that might introduce a new card.
What happens when the Tie Interceptor adds a new card you want to run in a Tie Fighter Swarm build? Lets say you can only field 5 Tie Interceptors but you need 6 or 7 of the new card for your swarm build. That would suck.
FFG needs to find a way to supply us with extra cards.
